The series of projects connecting Binh Duong and Ho Chi Minh City
[CafeF] Ho Chi Minh City and Binh Duong province are focusing on investing in key traffic corridors, vital arteries to strengthen regional connectivity and create a broader impact.
On March 2nd, the Bình Dương Provincial People’s Committee office shared that, in a recent meeting between the leaders of Ho Chi Minh City and Bình Dương, both localities agreed on the tasks to focus on for 2025.
These include investing in key traffic corridors and vital roads to enhance regional connectivity, create a broader impact, and develop a modern, integrated transportation system. There is also a priority to address traffic congestion on critical routes, opening up more opportunities for cooperation and investment attraction in the region.
Special attention will be given to the implementation of strategic directions for investing in transportation systems in the coming phase, especially the connections between Ho Chi Minh City and the seaports and international airports.
Construction of the Tan Van Interchange on the Ring Road 3 in Ho Chi Minh City
In 2025, Ho Chi Minh City will collaborate with Binh Duong and Dong Nai to establish a Joint Working Group for investing in urban railway lines in these two localities, connecting them to Urban Railway Line No. 1, the Ben Thanh – Suoi Tien line.
A comprehensive investment plan will be developed for the urban railway lines in Binh Duong and Dong Nai to connect with Urban Railway Line No. 1, the Ben Thanh – Suoi Tien line. This plan will be submitted to the local People’s Committees for approval and coordination of implementation.
The pre-feasibility study report for the Ring Road 4 project in Ho Chi Minh City will be completed and submitted for approval, with the goal of securing investment decisions and issuing specific mechanisms and policies. Efforts will also be made to expedite the project’s progress once the investment decisions are approved.
Focus will be placed on resolving obstacles and speeding up the progress of the components of the Ring Road 3 project in Ho Chi Minh City, with the goal of completing it by 2025 and having it operational by 2026.
Efforts will continue to develop the road connecting the Go Dua interchange to the Ho Chi Minh City – Thu Dau Mot – Chon Thanh expressway. Work will also accelerate on the project to raise the clearance of Binh Trieu 1 and Binh Phuoc 1 bridges on the Saigon River.
There will be collaboration in studying and connecting Urban Railway Line No. 1 (Ben Thanh – Suoi Tien) and Line No. 3 of Ho Chi Minh City with urban railway lines in Binh Duong as per the planning.
A review will be conducted of the gateway traffic infrastructure projects connecting Binh Duong and Ho Chi Minh City, with a focus on coordinating and implementing the following projects: the connection route between DT.743 and Ring Road 2, the access road to the Ho Chi Minh City – Thu Dau Mot – Chon Thanh expressway through Binh Duong, the Saigon River embankment road, the Vinh Phu bridge connecting LKV11 (Thuan An) with Vo Thi Thua Road, the construction of the Song Than interchange, the upgrading and widening of An Binh Road to connect with Pham Van Đong Road, and the completion of the Tan Van interchange at the southern gateway of Binh Duong connecting Ho Chi Minh City and Đong Nai.
Further studies will be carried out on the establishment of a development fund for the Southeast region’s infrastructure, aiming to coordinate activities for integrated socio-economic infrastructure development, with priority given to the region’s transportation infrastructure system.
Earlier, between 2023 and 2024, Ho Chi Minh City and Binh Duong completed 5 out of 11 items in their cooperation plan. The remaining 6 items were partially completed or are still ongoing.
